Hi David,In Win 10 v.1709 (the Fall Creators Update) this setting has been tied to the Default App Color setting found at Settings Personalization Colors (scroll down to) Choose your default app mode (Light or Dark). Changing the setting to dark then turns theCortana Search Box in the Taskbar back to dark again. I do not know if this was intentional (it would appear to be) or if it will be addressed in a future update.Do Note That:I have been following the thread that is referenced in the reply above by Dennis Mop for several days now.

The registry 'hack' outlined in that thread has been reported back to last only temporarily. Apparently Windows 10's self maintenance features havebecome advanced enough that it is now able to restore the registry to it's (just the OS's, not 3rd party apps) default values? If you would like to comment on this or make suggestions toward further development of Windows 10 to the MS development team (and have them see it) you can use the Feedback Hub to do so.

(More info and instructions on how to do this can be found at the linkbelow):Let us know how it goes and Good Luck going forward,-Richard. I had the same issue on Fall Creators update.

Skip the step about rolling back any drivers. In step 3 on the MS update tool, uncheck the KB4051613 that removed. This tell Windows 10 not to install it again. After this, you canrun Windows update and it should not installed. When they fix it later, you can run step 3 again, and uncheck the hiding of that update. I have a very curious issue.

I have two user profiles on my ASUS computer. One uses the email address I am writing this reply from:.

I would like to know whether you log in using the same Microsoft account on all 6 computers. If that is the case the end part of your email address such as @outlook.comwould be useful. Investigating commonalities with these addresses may link them to a single server that could be the true source of the problem. Hi David,This issue may have something to do with a recent update or change that was done to your computer. You can resolve this issue by following the steps provided by RafikVoskanyan in this.Feel free to contact us if you need assistance with Windows.I have tried this and it worked until I ran a search in Cortana, it turned (and stayed) white again. So far the only solution that sticks is changing the color scheme from 'Light' to 'Dark' but I hate having all the colors dark.Any other resolutions you might have?
