That said.FireWire 400 - 12V @12W and 1AUSB2.0 - 5V @ 5W and 500mAWinner. FireWire 400So to sum it up Synch with USB2.0 and Charge (with the AC Brick) via FireWire 400. I Choose USB2.0I find the speed of either to be basically equal for my needs. For me it's an issue of connectivity.For some reason, my computer is little more flakey when it comes to plugging-in and un-plugging Firewire devices.
